Enon Baptist Church

Sound Sytem, Discreet Video Projection system, Motorized Camera System.

It is very common for houses of worship to take great care in upholding aesthetics, but extra care was taken into consideration when designing this system.  The church is simply beautiful inside and out, and reminds us why we love to live in the south.  Since it is well over a century old we did not want much if any of the new equipment to be seen.  This poses several issues to the design team, but the end result was amazing!

Luckily the organ chamber allowed enough room for the Community loudspeakers with custom coverage patterns.  A Yamaha MG32/14 32 channel mixer was selected to handle the audio inputs.

The system processor used was a DBX DriveRack PA+, which made it easy to make corrective EQ adjustments and set the overflow speakers (One Systems 103i Loudspeakers) on proper time delays.  Speakers are powered by the new GX series from QSC, which actually beats the RMX series in terms of value.

For the projection system we decided to go with an Eiki LC SXG 400L projector (below) with a long throw lens whichdid suprisingly well considering the church had several large windows allowing light in from all angles.  The projector screen required a custom lenght drop since it was to be mounted behind the arch that separates the stage from the choir.  However, this allowed us to completely conseal the screen until it is ready for use.

One of the churches favorite additions was the camera system.  We installed 3 Sony EVI D70 motorized cameras with Pan tilt zoom, and an Edirol V4 camera switcher both shown below.

we also installed a Vaddio Triple View preview monitor and a 15″ flatscreen at the controll booth to preview the incoming camera feeds.  The cameras are controlled by a Edirol BR300 shown below.

Other notables:  For choir mics we decided against hanging microphones since they would hang in fron of the projector screen and went with Audix microboom’s.  These mics have a slim design and are usually mounted on floor stands, so that they can be moved as needed.  The pastor also loved the new Counrtyman over-ear headset mic which improved speach inteligability drastically over the typical lapel mics that he had been using.

Roughly 35 members showed up tho the training session, where we went through each piece of equipment to justify the church’s investment.  The thing that excited the church the most was how easy it was to get familiar with the gear.  It was great to see how excited the youth members were to get involved and play with the camera system.

Another great system for a great church body truly inspired by the Word of God!

PS  Thanks for the meals and Homemade Ice Cream!
